The first ten countries participating in the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 on Tuesday 10th May have their first rehearsal on the stage of the Düsseldorf Arena today: Poland, Norway, Albania, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, Russia, Switzerland, Georgia and Finland.

Three suspected al Qaeda members who have been planning a bomb attack in Germany for four months have been arrested. Rainer Griesbaum, a federal prosecutor, told that the trio led by a 29-year-old Moroccan planned to detonate their device in a crowded area in or around Eurovision Song Contest host city Düsseldorf.

The final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 takes place in exactly two weeks. According to the bookmakers Amaury Vassili from France will win with Sognu, before Getter Jaani from Estonia and Blue from the UK. Hungary, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Germany, Norway and Denmark complete the top 10.

In the Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 has been constructed.
