09.02.09 . Man Meadow's second Eurovision bid in Poland
Man Meadow, the Swedish runners-up from last year's Polish national final, also take part in Piosenka dla Europy 2009 on Saturday. Belgovision.com talked to Niklas Vestberg and Fredrik Olofsson, who'll bid for representing Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song Love Is Gonna Get You.
Just like Viva La Musica, their song that finished second in Piosenka dla Europy 2008, the song Love Is Gonna Get You was written by Thomas G:son and Andreas Rickstrand. "I guess it seems as if Thomas G:son is our house composer, but we have worked with other producers as well," Man Meadow says. "But G:son believes in us, is really fun to work with, he always give you a good laugh and is easygoing. And whatever you say, he knows how to make songs catchy."

What makes Piosenka dla Europy - the Eurovision Song Contest selections in Poland - more interesting for Man Meadow than Melodifestivalen in their home country Sweden, we wondered. "Being on stage, performing is what's interesting," they say. "Whether it's at Melodifestivalen or Piosenka dla Europy. G:son got a question if he wanted to write something this year as well, and so he did and hooked up with us again, and of course we're thankful for that and hope to have blast in Warsaw again."

Ten artists will be bidding for representing Poland on Saturday. "We haven't heard all of them, but some, and it feels like our song differs quite much from a lot of the other competitors - could be good, could be bad. You never know in these competitions." Who could prevent Man Meadow from winning the Polish national final this year? "It seems as Lidia Kopania is the big favourite this year, so maybe Poland wants another ballad this year. Of course we hope they prefer a more up tempo tune!"

Reaching the Eurovision Song Contest could mean an even more international breakthrough for the Swedish act Man Meadow. "Well, it's always hard to take on the world from the beginning, but of course we would like to take Man Meadow abroad and to Belgium. We'll see what happens in the future." Beside singing with Man Meadow, Niklas Vestberg is a television presenter on Swedish channel TV4. Fredrik Olofsson also is a dancer and backing singer. He took the stage with Ani Lorak in Belgrade last year and could last be seen with Marie Serneholt in the first heat of Melodifestivalen 2009.
